Thank you for your kind letter. You told me that you and most of you clas *** ates went out for a three-day trip. I really think it fun. Now let me tell you something about a speech contest, which I have taken part in.

The contest was held at the playground last Saturday morning, 7:. The panel is made up of 5 English teachers from our school, all of whom were experienced. Moreover, a total number of 20 petitors came from we Grade 2. It was made a rule that the top 3 petitors would be awarded. It is a great petition and all the participants perform well. I was so lucky that I won the first place.

演讲比赛

Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them. Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty. Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

We are going to have an English-speaking contest for senior students so as to improve our oral English. It will be held in auditorium on the 5th floor in the teaching building at 4:00pm. , June 9th. 十二月二十二号,我和五个同学一起来到四眼碶中学参加英语比赛.

我们是第三个表演,原本非常自信,可看了前两个表演后,顿时,成了一个个泄了气的气球。就说第二个表演吧，他们演的是英文的“三打白骨精”。内容很多，也非常幽默，原本书中写的是悟空外出时，唐僧等人在原地休息，而表演的的同学们却改编成了在原地打扑克。这让全场的评委老师和同学都笑了起来。我们也哈哈大笑。不一会儿就到我们了。

我们径直走上舞台，快速布置起来。布置完背景后，我按照自己的稿子认真地念了起来。在警察出场时，闹了一个小笑话。我的旁白还没有念完时，警察就出来了。这也注定了我们的分数会下降。表演完了后，我们下场欣赏别的同学的表演了。

我看了接下来的表演，有的表演《狐狸偷肉》，有人表演《小红帽》，还有人表演《狐假虎威》等经典的故事，我觉得我们最多只能拿最后一名，所以在心里下定了决心要好好学习英语，成为英语小能手。

比赛虽然结束了，但我一定要好好学英语。

星期四，我格外兴奋，因为下午我们要去进行英语话剧比赛。

中午，我迅速吃完饭，和同学们一起去老师的办公室化妆。1：30我们乘坐大巴士出发了，我有一丝紧张，但又有一丝兴奋。终于到南化四小了，我们先到会议室准备。到我们了，我们走进比赛场地，不知怎么了，我突然有一句台词忘记了，刚准备问刘安桐，可就在这时，音乐却响起来了。怎么办，这次英语话剧可是由储老师和王老师排练了一个月的啊！不能因为我一个人……此时我的是心情十分焦急，眼看就要到那一句了，我站在台上仿佛马上就要晕倒一样，我多么希望时间能停留下来，让我重新看看稿子……What about you，Kate？到我了，台下所有人都看着我，不知怎么了，我又行云流水地把那句话说了出来。此时，我的心情如吃了槐花蜜一样香甜，心里的那块大石头终于放了下来，我的好心情又回来了！表演完了，台下的掌声经久不息。那天，站在台上，我笑得十分灿烂！

每个人只能看到别人成功的喜悦，却永远也体会不到成功背后的辛酸！

今天早晨七点钟，我就起床了。上午，我要去参加“苏报杯”。

八点一刻，我来到了考试地点——胥江实验中学。我很快就找到了我的考场。我到考场的时候，很多人都来了。我先签到，然后就去找座位了。我发现我们的座位竟然是可以随便坐的。我找了一个靠边的位子，坐下等待考试的开始。

铃声响了，监考的志愿者把试卷和草稿纸发给了我们。我拿到试卷后，先审题。这次考试一共要写两篇文章，第一篇是看图写对话，要求不少于八句话。我很快就写完了。

第二篇文章是让我们谈谈我们理想中的周末，120个词左右。正好类似的文章我前几天就写过，我的印象还很深刻。我写完后，时间还很多，我就数了数我的词数，一共167个。接着，我检查了一下我的单词有没有拼错，有没有语法错误。

九点半到了，我就交了卷子，离开了考场。

今天晚上，霄霄哥哥一进家门就提议道：“我们举行一场英语比赛吧！”我和洋洋哥哥也不甘落后，异口同声的说：“比就比。”

妈妈为我们设定了比赛规则：比赛分为笔试和口试。第一名三元钱，第二名二元钱，第三名一元钱。霄霄哥哥兴致高涨，迫不及待地想看看题目。我胸有成竹地坐在沙发上看书。洋洋哥哥听了心里直打鼓。比赛开始了，霄霄哥哥侧着身子，把“卷子”放在桌子底下，以免被洋洋哥哥偷看。洋洋哥哥在一旁抓耳挠腮，眼睛不时地瞟一眼霄霄的“卷子”。我躲在一个房间里飞快的做完了自己的题目。我忐忑不安地拿给妈妈改分，心像小兔子一样“碰碰”直跳。我的分数出来了，是九十五分，这是因为粗心的我把Tuesday写成Tuseday了。虽然如此，我还是松了口气。因为两个哥哥成绩都没我好。口试的时候所有的题目都很简单，大家全得了满分。于是我得了第一名。我高兴得眉开眼笑，身体里的“小白兔”好像也在为我高兴呢！

啊！这真是一场充满紧张和快乐的英语比赛。

今天下午，我去会议室参加了英语讲故事比赛。一进会议室，最前面一排有几位老师，后面依次是从三年级到五年级的参赛选手。我发现，我还挺喜欢比赛的'。因为比赛前的那种心情很紧张，但紧张中又夹带着几分兴奋。

先是五年级比赛，之后依次往下。轮到我了。站到台上的时候，我的双腿有些发抖，翻开书读时，第一句读错了，我赶紧改进。为了不让自己再读错，我让自己的心冷静下来。双腿也不再抖得那么厉害了。我讲的故事是《爱唱歌的鸟，内容是有一只爱唱歌的鸟，国王把它关进笼子里，给它美味的食物，可它就是不唱。最后国王把它放走了，她又像以前那样唱歌了。现在所有人都很高兴。讲完了，我走下台，回到自己的座位上。有一个女孩跟我的故事一样，她很有感情把它背诵了出来，还做着动作。我是读的，有一点感情，没有做动作。我心想，下次讲故事要背下来，要有感情和动作。

这次英语讲故事比赛真有意思。

前两天，学校高年级举行了英语演讲比赛，我作为班上的代表之一，前去观摩。

这次比赛无论是主持还是演讲，都是全英文的。东看看，西看看，竟来了不少我认识的人。学校的几位老师来做评委，还有一位外教呢！

比赛开始。首先，是两位主持人一番简短的介绍，然后选手开始挨个儿上台。每个人都有一份课件，上面是演讲内容，选手要流畅地背出稿子，才能得高分。他们一口流利的英语，听得我云里雾里。我不由得感叹道，这就是差距啊！不过根据课件上的英文，我还是认出了一些单词。

选手的情况也不同：有的一口英语说得头头是道，听得人一愣一愣的；有的上了台过于紧张，忘了词，又下来整理整理思绪再上台；也有的背得不错，却出了一点小插曲的……可谓是千姿百态。

选手们讲的内容各不相同：有的流畅地讲了那些经典的故事；有的介绍了自己喜欢的动物或东西；还有的讲了自己从一句话或者一件事中感悟的道理……内容各不相同。

通过这次比赛，我深切地体会到了：人外有人，天外有天。我要更加努力地学习英语哟！
