空舱费(Deadfreight,又称亏舱费)。是指租船人向船东或租船经纪人在租船人所装载货物少于租约约定时支付的赔偿金数额。空舱费通常按全运费率支付,但如果运输费包括装卸费,则要减去装卸费。FCL中的空箱费也可以称作还箱费用,货主未能及时出货,而货代已经应货主指示将集装箱从堆场提出,然后可能有2种情形,一种:货主由于各种原因不出货或不使用某船公司的箱子,必须还箱的情况下,就会产生所谓空箱费。另外一种:货主在下个航次还是要出货的,建议不要还箱,各船公司有免费用箱的时间,这样就不会产生空箱费了。LCL货主在送货不及时或生产问题等不能按预定的出货计划出货时候,就可能会产生了亏舱费。这种一般在截关日提前24小时通知委托订舱的货代,就可以避免产生这些费用。
