ORIGIN(起源) Qing Ming is popularly associated with Jie Zi Zhui, who lived in Shanxi province in 600 B.C. Legend has it that Jie saved his starving lord's life by serving a piece of his own leg. When the lord succeeded in becoming the ruler of a small principality, he invited his faithful follower to join him. However, Jie declined his invitation, preferring to lead a hermit's life with his mother in the mountains. Believing that he could force Jie out by burning the mountain, the lord ordered his men to set the forest on fire. To his consternation, Jie chose to remain where he was and was burnt to death. To commemorate Jie, the lord ordered all fires in every home to be put out on the anniversary of Jie's death. Thus began the "cold food feast", a day when no food could be cooked since no fire could be lit. The "cold food" festival occurs on the eve of Qing Ming and is often considered as part of the Qing Ming festival. As time passes, the Qing Ming festival replaced the "cold food" festival. Whatever practice is observed, the basic observation of Qing Ming is to remember one's elders by making a special effort to visit their graves, ashes or ancestral tablets. To make the visit even more meaningful, some time should be spent to remind the younger members of the family of the lives and contributions of their ancestors, and the story of Jie Zi Zhui who choose death over capitulation.

Ching Ming FestivalChing Ming Festival is one of the 24 segments in Chinese calendar. It normally falls on the 4th or 5th of April because it's depended on the Cold Food Day (105 days after previous year's winter solstice). In the old days, Ching Ming was celebrated 3 days after the Cold Food Day but Cold Food Day was shorted to one day and then abandoned. So nowadays, Ching Ming and Cold Food Day fall on the same day although no one celebrate Cold Food Day any more. Ching Ming is also known as "Remembrance of Ancestors Day" or 'Grave Sweeping Day'. On Ching Ming, the whole family will visit their ancestors or relatives' graves. I remember when I was little, we had to catch a diesel train to north New Territories to do grave sweeping. As a kid, I always find it scary when the train go through the dark tunnel of the hill. But there is no more diesel trains running in HK now. If you want to see one, you can find it in the Railway museum in Tai Po Market. We have to carry incense sticks, joss sticks and paper offerings like paper money and paper clothes and any other paper accessories, depends how serious your family is with this thing. All paper offerings will be burnt for they believe that the relatives can receive the goods and even 'money' this way. As a kid, I am always asked to carry a bunch of flower. Chrysanthemum is normally chosen so don't give Chrysanthemum to Chinese people as gift coz it's a funeral/grave sweeping use flowers, although some households may find it to display home on normal days. Food like roasted suckling pig, steamed chicken, fruit and wine are offered during the ceremony. Then we will eat it up after the worshipping. There were children in scruffy looking t-shirts offering you a red piece of paper and a stone to put on top of the grave stone. My family never explains to me what it's for but I suppose red always implies luck so maybe it helps to bring good luck to the dead person? In return, you are supposed to give a few dollars to the children to buy this red paper. There were also poor teenagers or adults carrying sickles and offer weeding services around the grave stones. As our family visits the graves twice a year (Ching Ming and Chung Yeung), we can manage with a pair of scissors! Some superstitious people even carry willow branches with them or hang it on the front door. It's believed that willows help to get rid of evil spirits, when Ching Ming is one of the days that ghosts and spirits wander about.。

Today is the Ching Ming Festival. The ancients said: Qingming season rain have. This is heavy overcast weather, we have a go Ta-Qing Chihu.

On the way we are going to see that a strong grass and indomitable perseverance, with its staged to greet the spring, not to be outdone, it put on the new green clothes, green flowers in the movie, there is red, there is green, yellow has the 。 。 we go for a road, came to a field, the eyes are a feast for the eyes everywhere in gold, stood the rape in high spirits, and for many pearl-like dew-like in the golden slip slide small rolling on 。 。 chee lake, willow willow braid a section on green leaves and shoots have decoration, is the first girl more than any jewelry would also like to look good.

After Chihu cemetery, we can not help but go inside. Looking at the graves of martyrs and watched a wreath of small white flowers looked pure, my mind is not fluctuating. I think many, many: of us happy today, a better life for us by the revolutionary martyrs created, but also with their paid for in blood. So, my mind had an idea: the succession of martyrs want behest, studying strenuously strive to become the pillars of the national construction.

Next, we went to the yellow folder Ao, the mountains are packed, everyone's face is filled with nostalgic, looking at this picture, my mind, there has been some regret. I hope all my elders a long life and good health.

The Qingming Festival Ta-Qing to my feelings more, and once again I know the nature of the mellow side, my great harvest ah well!

The Qingming Festival (Chinese: 清明节), Clear Bright Festival, Ancestors Day or Tomb Sweeping Day is a traditional Chinese festival on the 104th day after the winter solstice (or the 15th day from the Spring Equinox), usually occurring around April 5 of the Gregorian calendar (see Chinese calendar). Astronomically it is also a solar term (See Qingming). The Qingming festival falls on the first day of the fifth solar term, named Qingming. Its name denotes a time for people to go outside and enjoy the greenery of springtime (踏青 Tàqīng, "treading on the greenery") and tend to the graves of departed ones.

Qingming has been regularly observed as a statutory public holiday in Taiwan and in the Chinese jurisdictions of Hong Kong and Macau. Its observance was reinstated as a public holiday in mainland China in 2008, after having been previously suppressed by the ruling Communist Party in 1949.

The transcription of the term Qingming may appear in a number of different forms, some of which are:

Celebrated o weeks after the vernal equinox, Tomb Sweeping Day is one of the few traditional Chinese holidays that follows the solar calendar-- typically falling on April 4, 5, or 6. Its Chinese name "Qing Ming" literally means "Clear Brightness," hinting at its importance as a celebration of Spring. Similar to the spring festivals of other cultures, Tomb Sweeping Day celebrates the rebirth of nature, while marking the beginning of the planting season and other outdoor activities. Qing Ming Jiein Ancient Times An old man takes one last look before leaving the City Cemetery at Biandanshan of Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province. In ancient times, people celebrated Qing Ming Jie with dancing, singing, picnics, and kite flying. Colored boiled eggs would be broken to symbolize the opening of life. In the capital, the Emperor would plant trees on the palace grounds to celebrate the renewing nature of spring. In the villages, young men and women would court each other. The Tomb Sweeping Day as Celebrated Today With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family. Sacrifices of food and spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good harvests and more children. Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a family's home altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers. Honoring Ancestors Honoring ancestors begins with proper positioning of a gravesite and coffin. Experts in feng shui, or geomancy, determine the quality of land by the surrounding aspects of streams, rivers, trees, hills, and so forth. An area that faces south, with groves of pine trees creates the best flow of co *** ic energy required to keep ancestors happy. Unfortunately, nowadays, with China's burgeoning population, public cemetaries have quickly surplanted private gravesites. Family elders will visit the gravesite at least once a year to tend to the tombs. While bland food is placed by the tombs on Qing Ming Jie, the Chinese regularly provide scrumptious offerings to their ancestors at altar tables in their homes. The food usually consists of chicken, eggs, or other dishes a deceased ancestor was fond of. Acpanied by rice, the dishes and eating utensils are carefully arranged so as to bring good luck. Sometimes, a family will put burning incense with the offering so as to expedite the transfer of nutritious elements to the ancestors. In some parts of China, the food is then eaten by the entire family. Kites Besides the traditions of honoring the dead, people also often fly kits on Tomb Sweeping Day. Kites can e in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors. Designs could include frogs, dragonflies, butterflies, crabs, bats, and storks.。

First of all, I get up at six in the morning, that was a long time! Wash gargle after the start up working;

Secondly, a few hours later, at around ten o 'clock, I and a friend to climb the mountain this three days,

We climbed o place mountain, hills and canyons park positives. This is also I will benefit most. Although clarity is

Generally speaking, people will bring the home-made food, some fake money and paper-made mansion to their ancestors. In some provinces of China, people use different activities to commemorate this day, for instance, spring-outing, swinging, tree planting and making special food. One special food is Ay Tsao rice balls. It looks like Tang-yuan, but its colour is green. Mix the ay tsao juice with the rice powder, then make it into small balls. The Ay Tsao rice ball is done. People believe that eating ay tsao rice balls can get rid of the bad luck and everything will go smoothly. Other activities such as spring outing, tree planting are the other ways to commemorate the forbears. For one thing, it is a sign that people should look into the future and embrace the hope; for another thing, we do hope our ancestor rest in peace.

The Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival is one of the 24 solar terms in China, falling on April 4-6 each year. After the festival, the temperature will rise up and rainfall increase. It is the high time for spring plowing and sowing. In the past, the Qingming Festival was called “Arbor Day”, but since 1979, “Arbor Day” was settled on March 12 according to the Gregorian calendar.

But the Qingming Festival is not only a solar term to guide farm work, it is more a festival of commemoration. It sees a combination of sadness and happiness. This is the most important day of sacrifice. Both the Han and minority ethnic groups at this time offer sacrifices to their ancestors and sweep the tombs of the diseased. On each Qingming Festival, all cemeteries are crowded with people who come to sweep tombs and offer sacrifices, but the customs have been greatly simplified today. After slightly sweeping the tombs, people offer food, flowers, then burn incense and ghost money. In short, it’s a time to cherish the memory of our ancestors and show our respect to them. Also, it’s a time for family gathering.

China has a long history of more than 5,000 years, so the variety of culture has been preserved. These meaningful cultures are treated as our national treasure. In order to remember them, the government has named the official holiday. Tomb-sweeping Day is one of the meaningful festivals. People have days’ off every year and the families will get together, sweeping their ancestors’ tombs. People believe that they do this can bring good luck, because their ancestors will bless them. Some people question the meaning of this festival, because they think people are superstitious. As for me, I think this day teaches people to in honor of their ancestors and respect the culture. It is not something about superstition, but about showing respect to the culture. We need to pass on our culture from generations, or we will lose our national treasure.

Qing Ming Festival

Qingming rain have, the pedestrian on the road. I ask where there are restaurants? The shepherd boy points at Xinghuacun." The song "Qingming" Du Mu, give us sustenance to miss, separated by thousands of years, in the rainy spring, lonely silence. The preface

I often think: Qingming Festival is a traditional festival, probably not too popular, then think of dead relatives and friends, many people can not help feeling that the tears trickling down cheeks, king, who can be happy?

But at least Im happy for them.

Qingminggrave, except as far as the dust in front of the tomb, placed as offerings of fruit, snacks. Burn a few incense, curl smoke rising, shrouded in front of the tombstone, lonely and sad. Perhaps, it was a nameless tomb, and the tombstone stood alone on the field. But thats where a living life is sleeping. That is not the borderlands, that is their ultimate love, blessing family; the final chapter.

At the time of the Qing Dynasty, the rain was drizzling, the breeze rustled over the cheeks, like the sad music of the funeral. Relatives, friends are sleeping in this vast land, and maybe hundreds of years later, maybe thousands of years later, they will eventually come back to dust. And here it is their final destination, the end of their life. But there is no final chapter in life, and the smile in the clear is the last mourning of friends and relatives...

Outing in the Qingming Festival, we dont know who, I think, in the past the Qingming, a verdant grassland; through the morning dew in a meadow; walk, that a warm grass. Looking for those who leave forever, the traces they leave here, with their yearning for the dead and their last attachment to the world.

Qingming, tomb sweeping is mourning for the dead man; Qingming, rain, is the natural comfort of their loved ones; Qingming outing, is for the dead man.

Qingming Festival is our proof of the last traces left by our friends and relatives in the world, proving that they live in the world as a fresh life.

Ask: "the pedestrian" why "deep sorrow"? Because, they, in remembrance in Miss, also in miss! How long can a persons life be? It may be very short, and it is too long to pass away inadvertently. At the moment that is about to die, it remains in a lot of peoples hearts, never die out.

In this article, I remember it.

The wind of March is filled with the fragrance of spring, passing through the fields and flowing through the edge of the spring. The long drizzle dampened the land of the April. Unwittingly, we have ushered in this years clear clear. "At the age of 100" cloud: "all things are clean and bright and clean growth at this time. So it is clear that it is clear. "

"Good rain knows season, when spring is happening." After the Qingming Festival, the rain is growing more and more. It is a good season for all the earth to grow. The fields that a green water green jointing; river embankment that arouses the tree. The rain washed the earth. Boys Piccolo sounded the prelude of country labor. From the back of the ox over long whistle floated into my mind.

Qingming rain have, the pedestrian on the road. I ask where there are restaurants, the shepherd boy points at Xinghuacun". Tomb-sweeping Day has grave worship custom, in this one day return to the countryside and gently wipe on the dirt, and also those complicated customs Shiqu hearts. The heart and the countryside tightly together, drinking wine home to the old Huaiyuan burma. The intoxicated side will know more about it.

This years Qingming Festival reminds me of more people and more. Over the past year, the pain has wet the memory, the past year has sorrowful cry years.

Qingming Festival is coming. Do not know whether they are watching the land in the heaven. They live and live in the land. Said Qingming rain is the enemy of tears. This years Qingming Festival has not rained, and perhaps our tears and their tears have already dried up in May last year.

The rape flowers off the Western Sichuan plain days just opened, a piece of gold charming eyes, these days a few days of rain, the flowers have lost. I used to see the man cry last year. Who knew last year that the brilliant Brassica flower was the last time they saw it. Perhaps the flower fragrance of the hometown will float to heaven, let the flower fragrance go to their yearning.

The distant whistle again, sad, dim and blurred. A series of Acacia in the kingdom of heaven is also stranded on this side of the land.

The annual festival in May each year, like intense thoughts such as wine.

The tomb sweeping day is one of the traditional festivals in China. On April 5th, people start to visit their ancestors’ tombs. Generally speaking, people will bring the home-made food, some fake money and paper-made mansion to their ancestors. When they start to honour their ancestor, they will light up some candles and incense, put some flowers around the tombs. The most important thing is to put the home-made food in front of the tombs. The food, also known as sacrifices, is usually made up with a chicken, a fish and some pork. It’s a symbol of the offspring’s respect to the ancestors. People believe that the forbears will share the food with them. The children dedicate the food and money to their forbears in order to show their love and caring. The young offspring will go down on their knees and pray for their ancestors. They can say their wishes in front of the tombs and the ancestors will make their dreams come true.
