《老人与海》(The Old Man and the Sea)是海明威于1951年在古巴写的一篇中篇小说,于1952年出版。 (Every day is a new day. It is better to be lucky. But I would rather be exact. Then when luck comes you are ready.) 2. (But,then,nothing is easy.) 3. (A man is not made for defeat,a man can be destroyed but not defeated.) 4. (The clouds over the land now rose like mountains and the coast was only a long green line with the gray blue hills behind it. The water was a dark blue now,so dark that it was almost purple.) 5. (Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is.) 6. ( It is silly not to hope,he thought.) 7. (But none of these scars were fresh. They were as old as erosions in a fishless desert. Everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated.) 8. (They were strange shoulders, still powerful although very old,and the neck was still strong too and the creases did not show so much when the old man was asleep and his head fallen forward.) 9. (His shirt had been patched so many times that it was like the sail and the patches were faded to many different shades by the sun.)

Santiago went to sea for 84 days and got nothing. His tenacity and hard work ushered in the promising dawn on the 85th day and the brilliant sunshine on the 85th day. On the 85th day, the old man went to sea. In the vast sea, his persistence finally paid off: a huge Marlin was hooked.

In the next four days, the old man competed with the big marlin. The scorching sun is not afraid of the sky, the cold wind is not afraid of the bone, and the lack of water is not afraid. With his courage and strength, he defeated the marlin and ushered in the dawn of victory. Many desc riptions vividly show the old man's strong and never give up spirit. Although his hands were weak and his eyes were hard to use, he could only see the intermittent together, and he kept trying. After trying again and again, the old man finally defeated the big marlin. The image of such a tough man is vivid in Hemingway's works. He not only told us to dare to fight against fate and challenge failure and death, but also told us to persevere in the face of things and be unwilling to fail. When we face difficulties, we should, as the article said, "now is not a time to think about what you can do with what you have." in the face of difficulties, we should be calm, confident, not complaining. "

The old man and the sea also tells us that it is foolish for people not to hope. Even if life deceives us, we should be optimistic. So I send a poem to Santiago and his grass carp, and the people who are disappointed in life and can't find a direction: "if life deceives you, don't be sad, don't be anxious, believe it, happy days will come. The heart will always yearn for the future, everything is fleeting, everything will pass. And what has passed will become eternal nostalgia."

When I read about the fierce struggle between the old fisherman and sharks, I was really worried about him, but he always maintained an optimistic spirit to face some great difficulties. Seeing here, I couldn't help thinking of myself. Whenever I encounter some difficulties, I always feel very unhappy, feel very upset and want to escape from reality. Look at Grandpa fisherman again. No matter what difficulties he encounters, he doesn't shrink back, but faces them bravely!

Life should also be like this. Don't be greedy and afraid of death. Have confidence in yourself. Even if we encounter many difficulties, we should never let it down. We should bravely eliminate it.

We are the future of our motherland. We should be as ambitious as Grandpa fisherman and pursue better and bigger goals. I believe that with my efforts, I will become as brave and brave as Grandpa fisherman. Life is an endless pursuit. Its road is long, difficult and full of ups and downs, but as long as he bravely and tenaciously meets the challenge with a confident heart, he will always be a real winner!

I will remember that a man is not born to be defeated. You can destroy him as much as you can, but you can't defeat him.

The old man and the sea has successfully created a classic image of a tough man. The author of this article also won the Nobel Prize for literature. The protagonist of the novel is an old Cuban fisherman named Santiago. He went fishing alone. After 84 days, he still got nothing. In 85 days, he finally caught a big Marinha fish. However, the strength of the fish is too strong. After three days of competition on the vast sea, the old man finally subdued the big fish, because the big fish is huge, He couldn't drag the fish into the boat at all. He tied the big fish to the side of the fishing boat. On his way home, he encountered repeated shark attacks. The old man fought against the sharks, but in the end, he left only his head, tail and a spine.

The old man Hemingway created here is a tragic hero. Although he finally got only a fish skeleton, he is a spiritual winner. He said: "man is not born for failure... A man can be destroyed, but not defeated." Human nature is strong. Human beings have their own limits, but it is precisely because people like the old fisherman expand to the limits again and again and put greater challenges in front of mankind again and again. In this sense, heroes like Santiago, the old fisherman, whether they challenge the limits, fail or succeed, are worth learning from.

Hemingway expressed his thoughts on the relationship between man and nature through the struggle between the old man and the big marlin, sharks and the sea and a large number of inner confessions: the law of nature is irresistible to human power, our noble people's indomitable struggle against nature should also live in harmony with themselves.

In the development process of the story, with the escalation of the intensity of the whole struggle, the interest of the whole story is also upgraded simultaneously. Therefore, many people think that it is really a boring story, which is understandable.

Because there is a very obvious difference between the descr iption of the plot of western novels and that of Oriental novels. In our common novels, the development of the plot of the novel must have a gradual process, and the progression of the story is also very intense.

However, in western novels, the development of the plot is often more insipid. Moreover, for Eastern readers, because the novel itself is a translation, there are some misunderstandings in the understanding of the whole story. For readers, what they understand has been filtered by other people's thoughts, so they can't really grasp the author's initial thoughts and views.

The final result of the old man and the sea is actually puzzling. Because the old man finally experienced a life and death struggle and got only a fish rack without any effect, the ending of the whole story is actually full of a certain tragic color. It will not only make us want to say, is it worth the old man's effort?

In fact, if we look back and comb the novel again, we will find that in fact, the old man has got what he wants most.

The old man and the sea is about an old Cuban fisherman named Santiago who did not catch fish for 84 consecutive days. On the 85th day, he caught a large Marlin 18 feet long and weighing about 1500 pounds. Unfortunately, when the old man came back, he was attacked by sharks. He tried his best to fight, but finally he only harvested the skeleton of a big marlin. A short story has shaped an old man with tenacious fighting spirit. In our opinion, he is a failure, but in fact, he is a winner.

As the saying goes: when the sword is sharpened, the plum blossom fragrance comes from the bitter cold.

In our study and life, we will inevitably encounter unpleasant things: losing self-confidence due to poor academic performance and abandoning ourselves due to the betrayal of friends... But since I read this book the old man and the sea, I think: compared with me, the old man abandons himself when I encounter a little difficulty, and the old man encounters such a great setback, but he is always so confident, Am I going to give up? Ostling once summed up the theme of the novel: "this story is an ode, which advocates the spirit of struggle that will never yield even if the result is nothing, and praises the moral triumph in failure."

We should bear in mind the enlightenment given to us by the novel the old man and the sea: life is an endless pursuit. The road is long and difficult, and full of ups and downs. However, as long as we bravely meet the challenges with a confident heart, we will be the real winners.

After reading this book, my heart could not be calm for a long time. This ordinary and respectable old man made me deeply understand that a man should not be subject to any difficulties, and should do his best to fight against the hardships in life unswervingly.

I know my own shortcomings. I no longer lose confidence in my study because of one or two failures, but the more I fail in the exam, the better I will do. In the future, no matter what difficulties I encounter, I will face them with confidence, persevere in the end and never shrink back. I would like to thank this book for letting me learn so much knowledge, for letting me know so much truth, for letting me know my shortcomings, and for correcting my shortcomings in time, so that I can become a useful person to society.

The fisherman was named Santiago. He didn't catch fish for 80 or 40 days before fishing. On the eighty fifth day, he took his boat and went fishing. His kung fu paid off. Finally, he caught a fish. But the fish's strength is so strong that it drives the boat. In this way, a battle of intelligence and endurance begins!

After a long time, although he only brought back the skeleton of a big fish, it was amazing enough.

A person is not born to be defeated. You can try your best to destroy him, but you can't defeat her. This sentence leads to the theme. Yes, I sympathize with him, but I admire him more. At the same time, I also want to learn from his optimism and persistence. I believe that sometimes if you wait for something, the result may not be as bad as you think.

After reading this book, I learned a lot, and I believe you will learn a lot. I hope I can share it with you in the future.

At first, a boy named Manolin went to sea with him, but after 40 days, he did not catch any fish, so his parents arranged him to go to another boat, because they thought that the child would not have good luck with the old man. On the 85th day, the old man rowed far away early in the morning, and unexpectedly caught a marlin bigger than the boat. The old man walked around with the fish for two days and finally caught it.

However, the injured fish left a trail on the sea, which attracted numerous sharks. The old man struggled with the sharks, but when he returned to the harbor, the marlin only had a huge skeleton, and the old man fell down on the land exhausted. The boy came to see the old man, who thought Santiago had not been defeated. That afternoon, Santiago fell asleep in the hut. In his dream, he saw a lion.

This story makes me understand that when encountering difficulties and setbacks, we should be strong and unyielding and forge ahead bravely. Although the old man failed, he kept his dignity and courage.

The old man in The Old Man and the Sea is a man who has experienced difficulties. He did not give up in the face of the difficulty of not catching a fish for nearly three months, but worked hard with a correct attitude and hope. On the eighty fifth day, he found a big fish.

Although he was exhausted and his eyes blurred, he still fought with the big fish for three days and nights, and finally caught him when he was almost giving up. It had already succeeded, but unfortunately, it was suddenly attacked by sharks on the return journey. Finally, the hard work was swallowed by sharks, leaving only one fish bone and returning empty handed.

Although he did not succeed, he is a deserved winner, which is exactly the same in life. Sometimes, as long as we have fought hard and bravely accepted the challenge, even if we did not succeed, we do not need to regret.

This is an old man fishing alone at the seaside. He caught a big fish, but met a shark. He fought with the shark desperately, but the shark ate all the fish he could eat. As a result, less than half of the big fish was left, but there was still about 800 pounds.

Yeah! As long as you do your best, no matter whether you succeed or fail. In May, I signed up to participate in the Hope English Talent Competition. The teacher sent me the draft and I practiced every day. However, when the teacher checked, he found that my draft was the same as that of another person. At that time, there were only five days left. The teacher said to me, "If you were not reciting one, I would believe you."

Finally, I couldn't stand the teacher's indomitable attitude, and recited another article. I began to recite this article more crazily, and didn't play at night. On that day, I went to Luoyang to compete and recited the whole article, but I only got 87 points. It didn't matter. I thought I had paid twice as much effort as others. Next time, I would participate.

Everyone should not be overwhelmed by any difficulties, and try his best to fight against the hardships in life unswervingly. Only in this way can he succeed.

The most touching story in this book is that an old man in the book is always fishing alone on the sea, so he always keeps company with the fish. Once he caught a big fish, but on his way back, he met a group of sharks. The old man tried his best to fight with the shark, but he still couldn't beat the shark. The shark ate all the fish he could eat, but the old man dragged back only a big fish skeleton

After reading this story, I was deeply inspired. I think sometimes we are very similar to the old people in the story. As long as we have something to do, as mothers, we will definitely come forward.

This is maternal love. The greatness of maternal love lies in her selfless dedication and no return, just like an eagle catching a chicken, an eagle like a shark, a hen like an old man, and a chicken like a big fish. The eagle went to catch the chicks and hens and tried to protect their children against the eagle. Although the power of the hen is limited, it can't fight the eagle. But it also desperately protects its children.

Like the old man in the article, he protects the big fish from sharks. Although we failed to catch the big fish in the end, let's admire the old man's efforts and perseverance, which is worth learning from.

The story is about an old fisherman, who was strong and excellent when he was young. He once broke hands with a black man, day and night, and finally won. In his later years, after his wife died, he lived alone in a small hut by the sea.

Once he went fishing in a small boat, but after 84 days, he didn't catch any fish. He didn't give up and went out to sea again. This time, he caught a huge fish, but he was exhausted. Instead, a group of sharks came to try to take away the huge fish that the old man had managed to catch.

So the old man tried his best to protect his "booty", but in the end he did not keep the whole fish, and the fish only left a pile of bones. But in my opinion, this pile of bones witnessed the old man's indomitable spirit! In the confrontation between the old man and the shark, it was like facing him with a black wrench wrist - never give up, and finally achieved a real victory!

This book taught me a truth: a person is not invincible and invincible from birth. Only when you do your best and dare to face repeated blows and setbacks, can you forge a person's strong character! We can create an unbeaten myth as invincible as the old!

What a strong fisherman! He went fishing alone. After being bitten by sharks for many times, the big marlin that the fisherman worked hard to catch turned into fish bones. Faced with such a huge loss, the fisherman does not care, but can face it with a sunny attitude. If we can learn from the outstanding character of fishermen, we will achieve good results.

If the result is not good, we will catch up and gradually get better. If you get good grades, you will have a relapse. If we apply the fisherman's perseverance to our studies, our achievements will always be good.

In life, when we encounter difficulties, we may rise to them; But they will also be afraid of difficulties. For example, Aunt Zhang Haidi, her feet were disabled when she was young, but she did not give in to setbacks, but challenged them with a positive, optimistic and confident attitude. She pasted words on the bedside, wall, kitchen every day... Through Aunt Zhang Haidi's unremitting efforts, she finally overcame setbacks, and won honor, making her own contribution to the motherland

After reading this book, I know that no matter what difficulties I will encounter in the future, I should face them positively, face them and be a brave and tenacious person.

Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read some of his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it and Prejudice is a first impression of this story was from ’s long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I don’t remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume.

I read the old man and the sea. I was moved by the grandfather in the book. He fought with the sea and the big waves for 85 days. He was a grandfather of Santiago. It is said that all the stories in this book are true. It mainly tells that my grandfather rowed a shabby boat alone and fought with a big fish in the sea, and finally defeated the huge fish. In fact, grandfather is not a great man, in many places are ridiculed, but he ignored, only tolerant.

To tell you the truth, we should also be like my grandfather. No matter what we do, we should persevere and never give up halfway. Only in this way can we do everything well.

Before, I do what matter as long as there is not smooth, will shrink, sometimes say a few words of depressed. On study, I as long as there are several test is not very ideal, there is no confidence. After reading this book, I know my own shortcomings, learning because no longer a two not smooth and lose confidence, but the test is not good, the more should study well.

"The old man and the sea", the lonely old fisherman Santiago is a tough guy, he embodied the spirit of value, is the ancient Greek tragedy spirit of modern echoes. In "the old man and the sea", Hemingway finally find the soul for his beloved tough guy and this spirit is unchangeable in mankind's eternal value.

the Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway’s most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation. It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers.

I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. It’s pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the he-ro-in-e,though I didn’t think she’s beautiful. But she’s smart. However, I didn’t pay much attention to the plot. I thought it’s so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I haven’t read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice. In fact, I didn’t understand the story at that time. I didn’t know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn’t find where’ s the prejudice. I thought it’s normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I’m a prejudiced person so I can’t find where’s wrong.

I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time.

When I read " the senior fisherman think: Here to the seacoast really was too near, perhaps could have a bigger fish in a farther place... " When, I extremely admire this senior fisherman, because he by now already projected on some fish, but he had not settled to the present situation, but was approaches the bigger goal advance. Again has a look us, usually meets one slightly is difficult, we all complain incessantly. We will be the motherland future, will be supposed to like this old person same mind lofty aspiration, will even better pursue even better, the bigger goal.

When I read " the big marlin start fast to gather round the young fishing boat hover, twined the cable on the mast, the old person right hand lifted up high the steel fork, leapt the water surface in it the flash, did utmost throws to its heart, one wail ended the big fish’s life, it was static static floats on the water surface... " When, my heart also liked together the big stone falls. I extremely admire old person that kind do not dread, the relentless spirit, although knows the match strength is very strong, but he not slightly flinches, but is welcomes difficultly above. Just because had this kind of spirit, the senior fisherman only then achieved this life and death contest success. We also must study senior fisherman’s spirit in life, handles the matter does not fear the difficulty, only then can obtain successfully.

Was reading the big fish’s smell of blood is smelled by one crowd of shark fish, struggled swims snatches the food, old person’s left hand happen to in the convulsions, he only could use the right hand, with wooden stick, the mouth and so on all was allowed to use for the weapon self-defense which attacked, and finally expelled this crowd of shark fish. But the big fish’s meat was already eaten one most, but the old person also charmingly criticized oneself the left hand " this work time actually was resting " time, I also was subdued by the old person optimistic spirit. In the life, some losses are inevitable, we should treat by the optimistic manner, cannot be calculating.

Finally, the novel sees by one youth the senior fisherman fully has 18 foot long big marlin in the measure, once more described this fish’s hugeness, explained senior fisherman overcomes the difficulty was big, non- was more common than.

The novel eulogized the spirit which the senior fisherman fear hard and dangerous diligently did not struggle, we also should like his such, could not satisfy the present situation, should positively to above, do any matter all is relentless, meets difficultly must welcome difficultly above, could give up halfway in no way. Only has this, we only then can obtain a bigger success and the victory.
