're in the pink! 当然不错,可如果你说“You're in the pink!” is bouncy。 如:久仰,“I get mind of you”比“I heard a lot about you。” you get lost? 若说“Did you get lost?”,则更能让他感到歉疚,可千万别说成“Get lost!”,那可是让人滚蛋的意思。 you have the time?别人征求你的意见,问能否开窗户等,你要是说“You can do that。”就有点土了,用一句“Do you have the time?” 实际上,问他人的姓名,地址都可以这么用:“May I have your name?”要比“What’s your name?” would rather not say。别人问你不愿公开的问题,切勿用“It’s my secret, don’t ask such a personal question。” 你可以说“I would rather not say。” ’s on the tip of my tongue。有时候,你想说什么,可是想不起来,你可以说“Well…”、“Let me see。”、“Just a moment。”或“It’s on the tip of my tongue。” I remember… 交谈时,你可能会转换话题,不要只说“By the way”,实际上,“To change the subject”、“Before I forget”、“While I remember”、“Mind you”都是既地道又受欢迎的表达。 got it。 用“I got it。”就顺耳得多,要是不懂就说“I’m not clear about it。”。不过如果你会说“It’s past my understanding。”或“It’s beyond me。” 无限扩展: ’m supposed to go on a diet/get a raise。 meeting was scheduled for two hours, but it is not over yet。 you care to see it/sit down for a while?你要不要看/坐一会呢? you mind if I take tomorrow off? ’m afraid that it’s not going to work out。 everything under control?一切都在掌握之中吗? really depends on who is in charge。 tell me whether I need to purchase a foreign student policy. 'd like to know whether basic health insurance coverage should include benefits for outpatient, hospital, surgery and medical expenses. you please tell me where I can purchase health insurance? 请告诉我在何处能买到健康保险? insurance is merely a mean by which people pool money to guard against the sudden economic consequences of sickness or injury. 12."Major medical" insurance policies are designed to help offset heavy medical expenses that can result from a prolonged illness or serious injury. the benefits provided under a certain policy have a dollar limitation for each service, you should determine whether these limitations are realistic. It is out of stock. This is our newest product. The quality of our products is very high. They are famous brands. I assure you of the quality. What is the price? Can it be cheaper? What's the lowest price? Wholesale or retail? Is check OK? These are our new models. We'll guarantee this product for one year. What style do you want? How about this one? If you are not satisfied, return it to me. When can you deliver? Enjoy your stay in Yiwu.

M:Gone? Did you have your name on it?
C:Write your name on the box?
If you don't have your name on it, 别人拿错是很有可能的呀!
I don't think I'll ever forget to put my name on my lunch.

But we do need to remind people to observe simple kitchen courtesies.
C:Simple kitchen courtesies?
For example, if you drink the last cup of coffee, you should fix a new pot for others.
I have to make a new pot and wait for a long time to get the coffee ready。
M: Also, it's just good manners to clean up after yourself such as wiping off the counter and throwing away the trash.

C:Yes, I am. I 'm not confident that I can do it correctly.
M:It's simple. You need to remember three rules. Rule #1: always introduce people of lesser rank to people of greater rank.
OK, rule #2。
M:Rule #2 is to say the name of the most important person first.

C:That's right。
M:This is a good restaurant. The soup is wonderful, we should come more often.
(Sound of spoon scraping the bowl)

M:E-ti-ket。
M:Etiquette is very important to business。
M:Etiquette is a set of rules that allow us to interact with others in a civilized manner。
M:具体地说就是treating other people with courtesy and respect and making them feel comfortable with you.
I'm always polite and courteous to others。
M:Asking someone's age is offensive to an American.

Stick to aboutthree or four points, give an overview of the points, then present them one by one, and thensummarzie at the end. Be straightforward and organized and you're sure to be remembered. M: What kind of visuals should I use to support the presentation? Do you think I should usepowerpoint? F: You should consider the size and interests of your audience. First of all thank the teacher gave me a story in my own future ideal job.
Everyone has a dream job. My dream is to become a boss, own a company.
In order to achieve my dreams, I need to find a good job, to accumulate some experience and wealth, it is the necessary things
Of course, in the school good achievement and rich knowledge is also very important. Good achievement and rich experience can let me work to make the right choice, have more opportunities and achievements.
At the same time, communication is very important, because it determines whether my company has a good future development. So I need to exercise their communicative ability. I need to use all of the free time to learn all. Because I believe, there is nothing in the world can shake my determination.
You will be successful, as your own efforts. So seize the time, we have no time to waste.
Nothing in the world can change their patience ( confidence ).
Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. The college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?
The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day every vally shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.
olks, it's long past time to cut the middle class back into the deal, so they can benefit from the economic growth they helped create. folks, there used to be a bargain in this country supported by democrats6 and republicans, business and labor7. the bargain was simple. if an employee contributed to the growth and profitability of the company, they got to share in the profits and the benefits as well. that's what built the middle class. it's time to restore the bargain, to deal the middle class back in. because, folks, when the middle class does well, everybody does well-the wealthy get wealthier and the poor have a way up.
you know, the middle class is not a number. it's a value set. it means being able to own your home; raise your children in a safe neighborhood; send them to a good school where if they do well they can qualify to go to college and if they get accepted you'd be able to find a way to be able to send them to college. and in the meantime, if your parents need help, being able to take care of them, and hope to put aside enough money so that your children will not have to take care of you.
that's the american dream. that's what this country was built on. and that's what we'redetermined8 to restore.
in order to do that, it's time to have a fair tax structure, one that values paychecks as much as unearned income and inherited wealth, to take some of the burden off of the middle class. it's time to close tax loopholes so we can reduce the deficit9, and invest in rebuilding america - our bridges, our ports, our highways, rails, providing good jobs.

now i am a member of the environmental protection association of wuyi university, where i've gotten a lot of opportunities to train myself and broaden my mind, such as working out the function plan and giving others a lesson on environnmental protection, and all of these are i make every effort to work on one thing, finally i make it,and the feeling is really got my first part-time job last can imagine how exciting i was when i got my paid after hours' i understand the old saying''no pain,no gain.""if you think you can,you can!"

What is the biggest effect of the internet.
No invention has received more praise and abuse than internet .
Thereis no doubt that we can do the things that for us may be difficult or even impossible in the past with the help of internet . we can communicate with the friends we have lost touch with for many years by the internet
I enjoy go on line ,for i can do whatever i like ,such as talking with my friends, chatting with my teacher and also listenning some ver, what i like most is to read electrical magzine or watch some english can also know the lastest news about the world instently. as i am a student ,i do not have much time surffing the internet..
But i will go on line in the weekend if i have finished my homework parents agree with fact they always support me on everything i like i believe that people equate succein life with the ability of operating is generally accepted that no college or university can educate its students by the time they graduate,so may be computer skills will enchance our job opportunities or promotion..
However, some believe that it is a terrible invention, because their kids are clinging to the net games and even crime as a result of the bad effect. what is more, some girls are cheated by people through internet.
Good afternoon, everyone! It is my great honor to stand here to give you this presentation. First let me introduce myself briefly, my name is Peng Hui, I am currently a junior student come from the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering. My major is port channel and coastal engineering. My hometown is Yi Yang in Hu Nan province. In my spare time, I like playing table tennis and badminton, I think exercise is also an investment. Also I like listening music and traveling, they are good ways to relax myself. Now let’s begin my presentation. In the following few minutes, I hope all of you can enjoy my speech.
My topic is “Is It Necessary to Buy a House before Getting Married”.
When we are preparing to get wed, one thing we should decide is where we will live after the wedding. Ideally, this should be taken care of before we get married so that we can settle down and start our married life more smoothly.
Should we rent a house with our companion or buy a new one? There’s really no right answer. There are no clear cut formulas to establish whether it is better to own a house during our marriage life. A lot of it depends on finance preparedness, the quality of our relationship with each other, and other things.
Today, getting married in China is not an easy thing. “No house, no marriage” has been very popular in the society.
According to the "Survey Report Chinese Marriage Status of 2010" released on Dec 15, 2010, about 70 percent of women said that housing, stable income and some savings were the main requirements for marriage. From the report, we can see that housing is on the top among the factors.
Personality and morals lay beyond the top three requirements. However “No house, no marriage” has been a phenomenon different from other countries.
Next, let’s take a look at the situation overseas.
In Japan, renting has been a custom for newly married young couples. Few can afford to purchase property. Up to percent of young couples choose to rent, and merely percent of the group buy a house for marriages. Generally speaking, most buyers are older than 40 in Japan.
In Europe, it is reported that there are many people who live in rented houses all their lives and they don’t feel it is a bad thing. In Berlin, 70 percent people choose to rent, only 30 percent adults choose to buy a house. Journalists have surveyed that the average age of Europeans to
buy their first house in Belgium is 41-year-old, in France 38 years old, in Germany 40 years old. Finally, they concluded that the average age is 40 years old.
For many Americans, housing troubles don't pose any obstacle to marriage. They often buy a house after the wedding, because more and more people are reconsidering their real estate problem, and going back to a more rational mode of consumption.
In my opinion,it is not necessary to buy a house before we get married. First, if we choose to buy a house, it will increase our economic burden, leading the constraint of our marriage life. Second, it will impose restrictions to the development of our career if we spend most of our salaries on mortgaging a house. Last but not least, we will feel guilt if our parent can’t enjoy a happy life in their later years because their saving were spent on buying a flat for us. Above all, young people should be free to enjoy being young, without the huge pressure of trying to buy houses.
That’s all! Thank you for your attention!

You always givesuch amazing presentations, I was hoping you could give me some advice about how to winthem over tomorrow. F: Sure, it's easy. First of all, the secret to a successful oral presentation is to keep thingssimple. People are listening and they usually don't have a long attention spans. In other words, who is listening, and what do they want to hear… you can put together a PPT with some graphics and animationsthat will catch people's attention, but be careful not to go overboard. A: I think you are looking at the wrong line. The rapid drop in sales wasn't our hair are correct, the hair product sales decreased slightly, but not dramatically. The one thatdidn't do so hot this month was the cleaning products. I think there was a problem in themarketing plan. Some people were offended by our advertisements for the cleaning products, but it was already too late to mitigate the damage, so our mistake shows up in the sales. B: Well, the good news is the new industrial cleaning products really took off. Look how thesales have shot up over the last two weeks. A: That is our one major success. M: Hey, Chen Hao, what happened?
C: Someone ate my lunch!
M:Gone? Did you have your name on it?
C:Write your name on the box?
If you don't have your name on it, 别人拿错是很有可能的呀!
I don't think I'll ever forget to put my name on my lunch.
Sometimes people bring their lunch, and later decide to go out to eat and forget about their food in the frig until it starts to smell.
I just have to throw them out.
I have to find some lunch.
M:See you later.
C:Hi, Mary, ready to go home? Can I walk with you?
M:Sure. By the way, did you find out who ate your lunch?
C:Oh, yes, I did. It was all a mistake.
Next time, I should pay more attention to it.
M:You also have to remember: keep the refrigerator clean -- put your name on your food and throw away any unwanted food; make a new pot of coffee when you drink the last cup. Throw away the trash, and clean the counter.
C:Thank you, Mary.

(Office ambience)
C:Hi, Mary. Do you have a minute? I need your help.
M:Sure. What is it?
M:Well, aren't you flattered that your boss asked you to do that?
C:Yes, I am. I 'm not confident that I can do it correctly.
M:It's simple. You need to remember three rules. Rule #1: always introduce people of lesser rank to people of greater rank.
OK, rule #2。
M:Rule #2 is to say the name of the most important person first.
Without clients we would have no business。
M:No problem。
I would like to introduce so and so to you。
Mr. Smith, I would like to introduce you to Mr. Johnson。
M:No, 不对。 Mr. Smith, I would like to introduce Mr. Johnson to you。
Mr. Johnson, I would like to introduce Mary to you.
M:That' correct。
C:OK。 Rule #1,always introduce people of lesser rank to people of greater rank。
Mr. Johnson, I would like to introduce Chen Hao to you。
Rule #2: say the name of the most important person first。
OK, you're all set. Good luck tonight and enjoy!

(Office ambience)
As the ships sail out to sea, I spoon my soup away from me."
M:Oh, that's a little rhyme that helps children remember the correct way to eat soup.
I spoon my soup away from me" means you spoon the soup toward the front of the bowl and then bring the spoon back to your mouth.
Why so complicated?
C:Mary, let's each order a soup and try it out. I'm hungry, I want a clam chowder.
M:Clam chowder with sea food and meat. It's too filling.
******
(Soup arrives and they start to eat. Sounds of slurping)
It sounds as if you're enjoying your soup..
C:It's delicious!
M:But I'm sorry to say that slurping is considered bad manners in Western etiquette.
If your soup is too hot, stir it slightly or simply wait.
C:That's right。
M:This is a good restaurant. The soup is wonderful, we should come more often.
(Sound of spoon scraping the bowl)
M:Chen Hao,don't scrape your bowl. Just tip your bowl away from you to retrieve the last spoonful of soup.
Mary, what are the main points that I need to remember?
M:Spoon the soup toward the center or front of the bowl and then bring the spoon back to your mouth; slurping is considered bad manners in Western etiquette; if the soup is too hot, stir it slightly or simply wait; tip your bowl away from you to retrieve the last spoonful of soup.
(Office ambience)
What happened?
我知道, 我过去一直是当陪客的,never been a host。I don't even know what to do!
M:Don't worry。
Tell me specifically what to do first。
M:First, of course, choose a restaurant,
I'll take them there。
M:你呀,最好找一个你熟悉的饭馆,so you can be sure that the food and service will be good。
I did hear that new restaurant is quite noisy。
You need an atmosphere that is suitable for business conversation。
Mary, would you like to have lunch there with me today to check it out?
M:Thank you. I'd love to be your guinea pig for lunch。
C:Guinea pig!
******
C:So, Mary, what do you think? Will this work for the business dinner?
M:It's perfect。对了,既然你现在在这里,你可以认识一下那head waiter,把明天的帐先付了,take care of the bill for tomorrow night。
C:But isn't it risky to give someone your credit card?
M:像样的饭馆都有信誉,so it's not risky and it's done all the time。 That will eliminate any confusion over who is paying.
C:That's a very good idea。
M:A wonder idea to request a specific table for tomorrow.
C:Mary,Thank you so much.
M:You're welcome. Next time you'll know that as a host, it's your responsibility to choose an appropriate restaurant, taking care as much as possible ahead of time such as arranging for how to pay the bill and requesting a nice table. Then it will be an enjoyable evening for all.
(Office ambience)
C:Excuse me, Mary,
M:Oh, etiquette,
Tell me what is etiquette?
Etiquette is a set of rules that allow us to interact with others in a civilized manner。
M:And treating other people with courtesy and respect and making them feel comfortable with you.
C: Mary,
M:No problem.
会议商务英语对话(一) M: Please let me see the draft of what you have put together for Monday's meeting. F: I'm still working on the agenda, there will be a lot to go over on Monday. Here's what I'vegot so far. M: Do you think we will spend more than twenty minutes in the opening? I think it should bepretty simple. F: It shouldn't take too long, but there will be a lot of dignitaries at the meeting. In theopening exercises, it is protocol to spend a little time to recoginise them. I reckon it shouldtake about half an hour before we can even get to the minutes. M: Really? Well, at least the minutes shouldn't take too long to review. There shouldn't be a lotof active business left over from last meeting. F: True. After review and acceptance of the minutes, we have several committee reports. Oldbusiness won't take up too much time, but sometimes the committee delegates can be a littleverbose… Is there where we can limit their time? M: We can set a five minute report time with a three minute question and answer afterwards. F: That's not good. Q&A always stretch out the time, because people usually get stuck onsome irrelevent point, we'll lose control of the meeting if we open it up to questions too early. M: True. Well, imposing an eight minute limit on the committee reports then, we'll saveQ&A until right before closed session. F: Sounds good. Overall, we can probably keep the meeting under two hours. M: Let's hope! 会议商务英语对话(二) A: Thank you for listening, that concludes the formal part of my presentation. Now we havetime for a few questions before we break for lunch. Please don't be shy, if you have questions orsomething to say, just raise your hand.... Oh, yes, you in the back? B: Can you clarify what you said about the standard design options? A: Do you mean the design for the phase one products? B: Yes.... A: Well, just as I said, the design for the phase one products comes in a standard optionspackage. We will provide a catalog of choices that can be customized to a fair degree. C: What do you think about the copyright issues that have come up with our recent designs? A: I'm sorry, I'm not sure I'm familiar with the issues you're talking about.... I'm not sure Iunderstand your question, could you explain more? C: The legal department has been dealing with charges of copyright infringement on ourdesigns.... I was just wondering your take on the issue. A: I don't have much experience in the legal aspect of things, I'll have to do a little researchand get back to you.... 会议商务英语对话(三) A: So that's the end of what I had prepared to share with you today. Now I'd like to open it upfor questions. We have about twenty minutes for questions and discussion. I'd be veryinterested to hear your comments....Yes? B: Yes, thank you for your excellent presentation. I have one question I would like to ask. Yousaid our sales in Asia overall have been very low in general .... I'm wondering what thesituation is like in Japan? A: Good question. As I mentioned, Asia in general is a slow starter, this also includes theJapanese market. There is no notable difference between Japan and other Asian that answer your question? B: Yes, thank you. Another question... Would you care to comment on the cultural impact ofMultinational companies on local economies? A: I'm afraid that's outside the scope of my talk, I can talk to you more individuallyafterwards.... C: What about our future direction in the Asian market? Can you talk a little about what planswe have? A: I don't think I'm the right person to answer this question, perhaps our General Manager, , can help to answer.... 会议商务英语对话(四) A: So that concludes the introduction. Now let's move to the first part of my talk, which is about2006 fiscal year marketing plan. So first, right off the bat, When looking at the marketingplan, tell me some of the goals that we had set this year to begin with.... B: We wanted to appeal to a younger set of consumers and also, in line with that goal, redo ourimage.... A: That's correct. If you remember, we also set a goal to double distribution in overseasmarkets. Now, when looking at the data to evaluate whether or not we made our goals, thereare three things to consider. First, the original condition of the market, second, our marketingnumbers from the previous year, and third, our final sales figures for this year. Now I want todescribe for you the second and third parts. If you look at the overhead, you'll see agraph...The blue line represents our sales from the year 2005, the red line is the sales in2006.... As you can see, our sales in 2005 were quite slow to start off with, but managed tomake decent performance in the last part of the year. On the other hand, you can see thisyear's sales took off like a rocket.
