1 地点状语从句
地点状语从句通常由where, wherever 引导。
Where I live there are plenty of trees.
我住的地方树很多。
Wherever I am I will be thinking of you.

2 方式状语从句
方式状语从句通常由as, (just) as…so…, as if, as though引导。
1) as, (just) as…so…引导的方式状语从句通常位于主句后,但在(just) as…so…结构中位于句首,这时as从句带有比喻的含义,意思是"正如…","就像",多用于正式文体,例如:
Always do to the others as you would be done by.
你希望人家怎样待你,你就要怎样待人。
As water is to fish, so air is to man.
我们离不开空气,犹如鱼儿离不开水。
Just as we sweep our rooms, so we should sweep backward ideas from our minds.

2) as if, as though
两者的意义和用法相同,引出的状语从句谓语多用虚拟语气,表示与事实相反,有时也用陈述语气,表示所说情况是事实或实现的可能性较大。汉译常作"仿佛……似的","好像……似的",例如:
They completely ignore these facts as if (as though) they never existed.
他们完全忽略了这些事实,就仿佛它不存在似的。(与事实相反,谓语用虚拟语气。)
He looks as if (as though) he had been hit by lighting.
他那样子就像被雷击了似的。(与事实相反,谓语用虚拟语气。)

3 原因状语从句
比较:because, since, as和for
1) because语势最强,用来说明人所不知的原因,回答why提出的问题。当原因是显而易见的或已为人们所知,就用as或 since。
I didn't go, because I was afraid.
Since /As the weather is so bad, we have to delay our journey.
2) 由because引导的从句如果放在句末,且前面有逗 号,则可以用for来代替。但如果不是说明直接原因,而是多种情况加以推断,就只能用for。
He is absent today, because / for he is ill.
He must be ill, for he is absent today.
4 目的状语从句
表示目的状语的从句可以由that, so that, in order that, lest, for fear that, in case等词引导,例如:
You must speak louder so that /in order that you can be heard by all.
He wrote the name down for fear that(lest) he should forget it.
Better take more clothes in case the weather is cold.
5 结果状语从句
结果状语从句常由so… that 或 such…that引导,掌握这两个句型,首先要了解so 和 such与其后的词的搭配规律。
比较:so和 such
其规律由so与such的不同词性决定。such 是形容词,修饰名词或名词词组,so 是副词,只能修饰形容词或副词。 so 还可与表示数量的形容词many, few, much, little连用,形成固定搭配。

6 条件状语从句
连接词主要有 if, unless, as/so long as, on condition that 等。.
if 引导的条件句有真实条件句和非真实条件句两种。非真实条件句已在虚拟语气中阐述。
unless = if not.
Let's go out for a walk unless you are too tired.
If you are not too tied, let's go out for a walk.

7 让步状语从句
though, although
注意: 当有though, although时,后面的从句不能有but,但是 though 和yet可连用
Although it's raining, they are still working in the field.

He is very old, but he still works very hard.

Though the sore be healed, yet a scar may remain.

2) as, though 引导的倒装句
as / though引导的让步从句必须表语或状语提前(形容词、副词、分词、实义动词提前)。

注意: a. 句首名词不能带任何冠词。

注意:no matter 不能引导主语从句和宾语从句。

8 比较while, when, as
1)as, when 引导短暂性动作的动词。
Just as / Just when / When I stopped my car, a man came up to me.
2)当从句的动作发生于主句动作之前,只能用when 引导这个从句,不可用as 或 while。
When you have finished your work, you may have a rest.
3)从句表示"随时间推移"连词能用as,不用when 或while。
As the day went on, the weather got worse.
日子一天天过去,天气越变越坏。
9 比较until和till
此两个连词意义相同。肯定形式表示的意思是"做某事直至某时",动词必须是延续性的。否定形式表达的意思是"直至某时才做某事"。动词为延续性或非延续性都可 以。 正确使用这两个连词的关键之一就在于判断句中的动词该用肯定式还是否定式。
肯定句:
I slept until midnight. 我一直睡到半夜时醒了。
Wait till I call you. 等着我叫你。
(在肯定句中可用before代替 Let's get in the wheat before the sun sets.)
否定句:
She didn't arrive until 6 o'clock.
她直到6点才到。
Don't get off the bus until it has stopped.

1)Until可用于句首,而till通常不用于句首。
Until you told me, I had heard nothing of what happened.

注意:否定句可用另外两种句式表示。

hardly/scarcely…when/before, no sooner…than 和as soon as都可以表示"一…就…"的意思,例:

As soon as I got home, it began to rain.
注意:如果hardly, scarcely 或no sooner置于句首,句子必须用倒装结构:
Hardly / Scarcely had I got home when it began to rain.

一、什么是状语、状语从句?
状语:是用来修饰动词、形容词、副词或全句用的。
eg:He works hard! (他努力工作)中的hard。
状语的位置:
修饰形容词或副词的状语放在被修饰语之前。
eg:The Summer Palace is very beautiful.颐和园非常美丽。
(very 为状语,修饰形容词 beautiful,放在 beautiful 之前)。
修饰动词的状语有的放在动词前,有的放在动词之后。
如果动词有宾语,状语一般须放在宾语之后。
eg: I He often came here to see me.他经常到这里来看我。(often 为状语,修饰动词came,放在前面)。
I know him well.我十分了解他。(well为状语,修饰动词 know,放在 know 之后)。
状语从句:用一个 句子 (从句)来作另一个句子(主句)的状语,用作状语的句子就叫作状语从句。作什么样的状语就叫什么类型的状语从句。例如:条件状语从句就是用一个句子来作条件状语。
二、状语从句的分类。
(1)时间状语从句
凡是从句都必须有引导词,引导时间状语从句的词有when,before,after,until,as soon as,while 等,具体用法如下:
1. when 意为“当……时”,引导时间状语从句,表示主句的动作和从句的动作同时或先后发生。
eg: I feel very happy when you come to see me.
When you are crossing the street,you must be careful.
when引导的时间状语从句,when的从句可以用延续性动词,也可以用瞬间动词。
eg:He was working at the table when I went in. 。
Someone knocked at the door when I was sleeping.
I will visit my good friend when I have time.
注:when也可以作并列连词,表示一个动词正在进行的时候,突然间发生了另外一件事。
eg: I was fishing by the river,when someone called for help.

2. before 意为“在……之前”,引导时间状语从句时,表示主句的动作发生在从句的动作之前。 eg: We cleaned the classroom before we left school yesterday.
He had been a cook before he went to college .
after 意为“在……之后”,引导时间状语从句时,表示主句的动作发生在从句的动作之后。
eg: After you use plastic bags,you mustn't throw them about.
He called me after he had finished his work.
注:若主句和从句两个动作发生的先后顺序十分接近,那么也可以不用完成时态,如上面的 第二句可改成:He called me after he finished his work.
3. since引导的时间状语从句,译为“自从……”,主句常用现在完成时,从句常用一般过去时。

注:常用句型:It is +时间段+since从句 译为:自从……有多长时间了。

4. until 意为“直到……时”,引导时间状语从句时,表示主句的动作发生在从句的动作之前。
当主句的谓语动词是持续性动词时,主句常用肯定形式;当主句的谓语动词是非持续性动词时,从句常用否定形式,not…until… 意为“直到……才……”,这时的until可以用before 来替换。

3.“祈使句 + and (or)+ 陈述句” 在意思上相当于一个带有条件状语从句的复合句。
eg:Hurry up, or you’ll be late.=If you don’t hurry up, you’ll be late.

(3) 原因状语从句
1.原因状语从句通常由because, since, as引导。
eg:He didn’t come to school because he was ill.
As it is raining, we shall not go the zoo.
Since you can’t answer the question, I’ll ask someone else.
2. because表示直接原因,语气最强。Because引导的原因状语从句多放在主句之后。回答由why提出的问题,只能用because。As和since语气较弱,一般用来表示明显的原因。由as和since引导的原因状语从居多放在句首。

3. because和so不能同用在一个句子里。

一、时间状语从句
1、when的用法
(1)when既可引导一个持续性动作,也可引导一个短暂性动作,可用于表示主句和从句动作同时发生或从句动作先于主句动作,有时还可表示从句动作后于主句,意为“当。。。时候”。
(2)when在be about to do。。。when。。。,be doing。。。when。。。,had done。。。when。。。,be on one’s way。。。when。。。,be on the point of doing。。。when。。。等结构中,作“那时突然”讲。
(3)when “既然、鉴于;尽管,虽然(位于主句之后);如果”
2、while的用法
(1)表示“当。。。时候”,引导的动作必须是延续性的。
(2)用作并列连词,表示相对关系“然而”。
(3)引导让步状语从句,相当于although,意为“虽然”,位于主句前。
(4)引导条件状语从句,相当于as/so long as,意为“只要”。
3、as 的用法
(1)表示“当。。。时候”,强调同时发生,不指先后。
(2)说明两种正在发展或变化的情况,表示“随着”,表示时间的推移。
(3)表示“一边。。。一边。。。”。
(4)强调两个动作紧接着发生。
(5)表示“虽然,尽管”。
(6)其他含义“正如,正像”,“作为”,“由于,因为”。
4、before的用法
(1)一般意为“在。。。之前”“。。。才”,“。。。就”“还没有。。。”“免得”“不知不觉”“宁可,宁愿”,“否则,要不然”。
(2)It + will be/was + 时间段+before+一般现在时/一般过去时。在肯定句中,意为“多长时间之后才”;在否定句中,意为“用不了多长时间就”。
5、until和till
(1)与肯定句连用,必须是延续性动词。
(2)与否定句连用,必须是非延续性动词,表示“直到。。。才,在。。。之前不。。。”。
注意:not until可用于强调句和倒装句
强调句:It is/was not until…that…倒装句:not until 放句首时,主句要部分倒装。
6、since的用法
(1)since后是非延续性动词,时间起点从该动作发生算起,意为“做某事多久了”;since后是延续性动词,时间起点从该动作结束算起,意为“不做某事已有多长时间”。
(2)It is/has been +时间段+since+一般过去时
7、表示“一......就......”的句型
(1)as soon as, once,immediately,directly,instantly,the moment,the minute等引导的从句都表示从句的动作一发生,主句的动作随即发生,常译作“一。。。就。。。”,这类从句中,经常用一般现在时态代替将来时态。
(2)on doing sth.或“on one’s+名词”作时间状语。
8、有些名词和副词可以起连接词的作用,引导时间状语从句。
注意:时间状语从句中不用将来时态。若要表示将来时间,可用一般现在时态表示。但when引导名词性从句时,从句中要使用将来时。

1、地点状语从句由where,wherever引导。
注意:where与where的区别:Where表特定的地点,而wherever表示非特定的地点。

So...that/such...that为结果状语从句;so...as/such...as为定语从句。
六、条件状语从句

七、方式状语从句

引导词:though/although/as(虽然,尽管),even if/though(即使,尽管),whether/no matter whether...or(not)

注意:(1)though,although,as的区别
A、Though,although的主句中可以用yet, still, nevertheless,但不可使用but。
B、though引导的从句可以倒装,也可以不倒装;as引导的从句必须倒装;although引导的从句不能倒装。
其结构为:形容词/分词/副词/动词原形/名词(无冠词)+as/though+主语+谓语……
(2)though可用作副词,放在句末,意为“不过,但是”。Although无此用法。
(3)某些短语也引导让步的从句或短语,意为“尽管”,如:in spite of the fact that, despite the fact that, regardless of(the fact that)
九、比较状语从句
引导词:as...as(和。。。一样),not as/so...as(和。。。不一样),than(比),the more...the more...(越。。。越。。。)
十、状语从句中的省略问题
1、在状语从句中如果主语与主句的主语一致,同时从句中又含有系动词be,则通常可省去从句的主语和系动词be,留下其余部分。

一、什么是状语、状语从句?
状语:是用来修饰动词、形容词、副词或全句用的。
eg:He works hard! (他努力工作)中的hard。
状语的位置:
修饰形容词或副词的状语放在被修饰语之前。
eg:The Summer Palace is very beautiful.颐和园非常美丽。
(very 为状语,修饰形容词 beautiful,放在 beautiful 之前)。
修饰动词的状语有的放在动词前,有的放在动词之后。
如果动词有宾语,状语一般须放在宾语之后。
eg: I He often came here to see me.他经常到这里来看我。(often 为状语,修饰动词came,放在前面)。
I know him well.我十分了解他。(well为状语,修饰动词 know,放在 know 之后)。

二、状语从句的分类。
(1)时间状语从句
凡是从句都必须有引导词,引导时间状语从句的词有when,before,after,until,as soon as,while 等,具体用法如下:
1. when 意为“当……时”,引导时间状语从句,表示主句的动作和从句的动作同时或先后发生。
eg: I feel very happy when you come to see me.
When you are crossing the street,you must be careful.

3. since引导的时间状语从句,译为“自从……”,主句常用现在完成时,从句常用一般过去时。

3.“祈使句 + and (or)+ 陈述句” 在意思上相当于一个带有条件状语从句的复合句。
eg:Hurry up, or you’ll be late.=If you don’t hurry up, you’ll be late.
Study hard and you will pass the exam.

(3) 原因状语从句
1.原因状语从句通常由because, since, as引导。
eg:He didn’t come to school because he was ill.
As it is raining, we shall not go the zoo.
Since you can’t answer the question, I’ll ask someone else.
2. because表示直接原因,语气最强。Because引导的原因状语从句多放在主句之后。回答由why提出的问题,只能用because。As和since语气较弱,一般用来表示明显的原因。由as和since引导的原因状语从居多放在句首。
