创作背景：
泰戈尔在诗歌、体裁、语言及表现方法上能够大胆创新，别具一格。体裁上把现实题材处理成具有冥想因素，把冥想体裁处理为具有现实成分；体裁上，诗人创造出“故事诗”和政治抒情诗的形式；还致力于创造自由体诗。
泰戈尔善于学习和运用人民生活中的口头语言，使诗歌的语言清新活泼；在创作方法上，他把现实主义和浪漫主义有机的结合起来，只是在抒情诗中，浪漫主义成分较重，在叙事性作品中，现实主义成分较多。
