The star may dissolve, and the fountain of light

May sink intoe'er ending chao's and night,

Our mansions must fall and earth vanish away;

But thy courage, O Erin! may never decay.

See! the wide wasting ruin extends all around,

Our ancestors' dwellings lie sunk on the ground,

Our foes ride in triumph throughout our domains,

And our mightiest horoes streched on the plains.

Ah! dead is the harp which was wont to give pleasure,

Ah! sunk in our sweet country's rapturous measure,

But the war note is weaked, and the clangour of spears,

The dread yell of Slogan yet sounds in our ears.

Ah! where are the heroes! triumphant in death,

Convulsed they recline on the blood-sprinkled heath,

Or the yelling ghosts ride on the blast that sweeps by,

And my countrymen! vengeance! incessantly cry.

我们祖先的基业-断壁颓垣;

挣扎在血泊中,血染石楠;

The odor from the flower is gone,

Which like thy kisses breathed on me;

The color from the flower is flown,

Which glowed of thee, and only thee!

A shriveled, lifeless, vacant form,

It lies on my abandoned breast,

And mocks the heart, which yet is warm,

With cold and silent rest.

I weep ---- my tears revive it not;

I sigh ---- it breathes no more on me;

Its mute and uncomplaining lot

Is such as mine should be.

像你的吻对我吐露过的气息;

我哭泣,泪水不能使它复生;

我叹息,不再向我吐露气息;

I arise from dreams of thee

In the first sweet sleep of night,

When the winds are breathing low,

And the stars are shining bright

I arise from dreams of thee,

And a spirit in my feet

Has led me -- who knows how? --

To thy chamber-window, sweet!

The wandering airs they faint

On the dark, the silent stream, --

The champak odors fall

Like sweet thoughts in a dream,

The nightingale's complaint,

It dies upon her heart,

As I must die on thine,

O, beloved as thou art!

O, lift me from the grass!

I die, I faint, I fail!

Let thy love in kisses rain

On my lips and eyelids pale,

My cheek is cold and white, alas!

My Heart beats loud and fast

Oh! press it close to thine again,

Where it will break at last!

星星放射着光彩;

象梦中甜蜜的想象;

怨声死在她的心怀;

我的心跳得多急切;

She Walks in Beauty

She walks in beauty, like the night

Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

And all that’s best of dark and bright

Meet in her aspect and her eyes;

Thus mellowed to that tender light

Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade more, one ray less,

Had half impaired the nameless grace

Which waves in every raven tress,

Or softly lightens o’er her face;

Where thoughts serenely sweet express

How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,

So soft, so calm, yet eloquent

The smiles that win, the tints that glow.

But tell of days in goodness spent,

A mind at peace with all below,

A heart whose love is innocent!

皎洁无云而且繁星漫天;

I SAW THEE’WEEP

——George Gordon Byron

I saw thee weep the big bright tear

Came out that eye of blue;

And then me thought it did appear

A violet dropping dew:

I see thee smile

the sapphire’s blaze

Beside thee ceased to shine;

It could not match the living rays

That filled that glance of thine.

As clouds from yonder sun receive

A deep and mellow dye

Which scarce the shade of coming eve

Can banish from the sky,

Those smiles unto the moodiest mind

Their own pure joy impart;

Their sunshine leaves a glow behind

That lightens on the heart.

涌上了你蓝色的眼珠;

一朵紫罗兰上垂着露;

也不能将它从天空逐开;

也灌注了纯洁的欢乐;

Death Be Not Proud

by John Donne

多恩

Death be not proud, though some have called thee

Mighty and dreadful, for, thou art not so,

如何强大,如何可怕,你并不是这样;

For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,

Die not, poor death, nor yet canst thou kill me;

From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,

Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,

既能给人享受,那你本人提供的一定更多;

And soonest our best men with thee do go,

Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.

Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,

And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,

And poppy, or charms can make us sleep as well,

And better than thy stroak; why swell'st thou then?

One short sleep past, we wake eternally,

And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

The Sun Rising

BUSY old fool, unruly Sun,

Why dost thou thus,

Through windows, and through curtains, call on us ?

Must to thy motions lovers' seasons run ?

Saucy pedantic wretch, go chide

Late school-boys and sour prentices,

Go tell court-huntsmen that the king will ride,

Call country ants to harvest offices ;

吩咐乡下的蚂蚁完成收割人的劳作;

Love, all alike, no season knows nor clime,

Nor hours, days, months, which are the rags of time.

Thy beams so reverend, and strong

Why shouldst thou think ?

I could eclipse and cloud them with a wink,

But that I would not lose her sight so long.

If her eyes have not blinded thine,

Look, and to-morrow late tell me,

Whether both th' Indias of spice and mine

Be where thou left'st them, or lie here with me.

Ask for those kings whom thou saw'st yesterday,

And thou shalt hear, "All here in one bed lay."

She's all states, and all princes I ;

Nothing else is ;

Princes do but play us ; compared to this,

All honour's mimic, all wealth alchemy.

Thou, Sun, art half as happy as we,

In that the world's contracted thus ;

当宇宙在这样一个世界里聚拢;

Thine age asks ease, and since thy duties be

To warm the world, that's done in warming us.

Shine here to us, and thou art everywhere ;

This bed thy center is, these walls thy sphere.

Lovers' Infiniteness

IF yet I have not all thy love,

Dear, I shall never have it all ;

这全部我将永远无法获取;

I cannot breathe one other sigh, to move,

Nor can intreat one other tear to fall ;

And all my treasure, which should purchase thee,

Sighs, tears, and oaths, and letters I have spent ;

Yet no more can be due to me,

Than at the bargain made was meant.

If then thy gift of love were partial,

That some to me, some should to others fall,

Dear, I shall never have thee all.

Or if then thou gavest me all,

All was but all, which thou hadst then ;

But if in thy heart since there be or shall

New love created be by other men,

Which have their stocks entire, and can in tears,

In sighs, in oaths, and letters, outbid me,

This new love may beget new fears,

For this love was not vow'd by thee.

And yet it was, thy gift being general ;

The ground, thy heart, is mine ; what ever shall

Grow there, dear, I should have it all.

Yet I would not have all yet.

He that hath all can have no more ;

And since my love doth every day admit

New growth, thou shouldst have new rewards in store ;

Thou canst not every day give me thy heart,

If thou canst give it, then thou never gavest it ;

Love's riddles are, that though thy heart depart,

It stays at home, and thou with losing savest it ;

却依然在家,拣回也就是丢失;

But we will have a way more liberal,

Than changing hearts, to join them ; so we shall

Be one, and one another's all.

Song of The Flower

I am a kind word uttered and repeated

By the voice of Nature;

I am a star fallen from the

Blue tent upon the green carpet.

I am the daughter of the elements

With whom Winter conceived;

To whom Spring gave birth; I was

Reared in the lap of Summer and I

Slept in the bed of Autumn.

说出去,又反复细念;

冬天将我孕育;

春天使我绽放;

夏天让我成长;

At dawn I unite with the breeze

To announce the coming of light;

At eventide I join the birds

In bidding the light farewell.

宣告光明的到来;

The plains are decorated with

My beautiful colors, and the air

Is scented with my fragrance.

使风光更加旖旎;

As I embrace Slumber the eyes of

Night watch over me, and as I

Awaken I stare at the sun, which is

The only eye of the day.

夜空数双眼睛对我凝望;

I drink dew for wine, and hearken to

The voices of the birds, and dance

To the rhythmic swaying of the grass.

我饮着朝露酿成的琼浆;

听着小鸟的鸣啭歌唱;

I am the lover's gift; I am the wedding wreath;

I am the memory of a moment of happiness;

I am the last gift of the living to the dead;

I am a part of joy and a part of sorrow.

我是爱人间的赠礼;我是婚礼的冠冕;

我是片刻欢愉的记忆;

我是生者予死者最后的祭献;

But I look up high to see only the light,

And never look down to see my shadow.

This is wisdom which man must learn.

而我仰望高空,只因对光明神往;

We Won't Have a Christmas This Year

We won't have a Christmas this year, you say

For now the children have all gone away;

And the house is so lonely, so quiet and so bare

We couldn't have a Christmas that they didn't share.

We won't have a Christmas this year, you sigh,

For Christmas means things that money must buy.

Misfortunes and illness have robbed us we fear

Of the things that we'd need to make Christmas this year.

We won't have a Christmas this year you weep,

For a loved one is gone, and our grief is too deep;

It will be a long time before our hearts heal,

And the spirit of Christmas again we can feel.

But if you lose Christmas when troubles befall,

You never have really had Christmas at all.

For once you have had it, it cannot depart

When you learn that true Christmas is Christ in your heart.

Let Us Have Faith

Security is mostly a superstition.

It does not exist in nature,

nor do the children of men

as a whole experience it.

Avoiding danger is no safer

in the long run than outright exposure.

Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

To keep our faces toward change and

behave like free spirits

in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.

On the seashore of endless worlds children meet. The infinite sky is motionless overhead And the restless water is boisterous. On the seashore of endless worlds The children meet with shouts and dances They build their houses with sand, And they play with empty shells. With withered leaves they weave Their boats and smilingly float them On the vast deep. Children have their play on the Seashore of worlds. They know not how to swim, They know not how to cast nets. Pearl-fishers dive for pearls, Merchants sail in their ships, While children gather pebbles And scatter them again. They seek not for hidden treasures, They know not how to cast nets. The sea surges up with laughter, And pale gleams the smile of the sea-beach. Death-dealing waves sing Meaningless ballads to the children, Even like a mother while rocking her baby's cradle. The sea plays with children, And pale gleams the smile of the sea-beach. On the seashore of endless worlds children meet. Tempest roams in the pathless sky, Ships are wrecked in the trackless water, Death is abroad and children play. On the seashore of endless worlds is the Great meeting of children. MY SONG THIS song of mine will wind its music around you, my child, like the fond arms of love. This song of mine will touch your forehead like a kiss of blessing. When you are alone it will sit by your side and whisper in your ear, when you are in the crowd it will fence you about with aloofness. My song will be like a pair of wings to your dreams, it will transport your heart to the verge of the unknown. It will be like the faithful star overhead when dark night is over your road. My song will sit inthe pupils of your eyes, and will carry your sight into the heart of things. And when my voice is silent in death, my song will speak in your living heart. When Day Is Done If the day is done ,假如时光已逝, If birds sing no more . If the wind has fiagged tired ,风儿也吹倦了, Then draw the veil of darkness thick upon me ,那就用黑暗的厚幕把我盖上, Even as thou hast wrapt the earth with The coverlet of sleep and tenderly closed ,如同黄昏时节你用睡眠的衾被裹住大地, The petals of the drooping lotus at dusk. From the traverer, 路途未完,行囊已空, Whose sack of provisions is empty before the voyage is ended ,衣裳破裂污损,人已精疲力竭。 Whose garment is torn and dust-laden , Whose strength is exhausted,remove shame and poverty , And renew his life like a flower under如花朵般焕发生机。 The cover of thy kindly night .

1."WHERE have I come from, where did you pick me up?" the baby asked its mother.

She answered half crying, half laughing, and clasping the baby to her breast,-- "You were hidden in my heart as its desire, my darling.

You were in the dolls of my childhood's games; and when with clay I made the image of my god every morning, I made and unmade you then.

You were enshrined with our household deity, in his worship I worshipped you.

In all my hopes and my loves, in my life, in the life of my mother you have lived.

In the lap of the deathless Spirit who rules our home you have been nursed for ages.

When in girlhood my heart was opening its petals, you hovered as a fragrance about it.

Your tender softness bloomed in my youthful limbs, like a glow in the sky before the sunrise.

Heaven's first darling, twin-born with the morning light, you have floated down the stream of the world's life, and at last you have stranded on my heart.

As I gaze on your face, mystery overwhelms me; you who belong to all have become mine.

For fear of losing you I hold you tight to my breast. What magic has snared the world's treasure in these slender arms of mine?"

Babys world

I WISH I could take a quiet corner in the heart of my baby's very own world.

I wish I could travel by the road that crosses baby's mind, and out beyond all bounds; 我愿我能在横过孩子心中的道路上游行,解脱了一切的束缚;

Where messengers run errands for no cause between the kingdoms of kings of no history; 在那儿,使者奉了无所谓的使命奔走于无史的诸王的王国间;

Where Reason makes kites of her laws and flies them, and Truth sets Fact free from its fetters.

Dreams are lighthouses that guide the direction of life.

A man without a dream is like a bird without wings; A man without a dream is like a ship losing its direction. Facing the sun, it will be hope;

Brave growth is a kind of edge.

I believe that dreams are the best faith.

It guides me forward and makes me no longer hesitate. Even if the road ahead is full of thorns and difficulties;

Even in the face of failure, pain and struggle.

As long as you make your strong wings, you can fly against the wind; As long as we turn hope into strength, miracles will fall from the sky. I believe, I am me.

Unique and unstoppable;

Not afraid of loneliness, not afraid of wind and waves.

Because of you, side by side with me.

I believe in making great strides towards my dream.

We can change the world, we can realize our dreams.

一个没有梦想的人,就像鸟儿没有翅膀;一个没有梦想的人,就像船只失去方向。面向太阳,就会是希望;

它指引着我向前,让我不再彷徨。就算前路充满荆棘,困难重重;
