By the time you read this you will be 30. At the age of 18 I had so many hopes and dreams about where you'd be, what you'd be doing and with whom you'd spend your life with.
Right now I hope that you have traveled and seen everything you've always wanted to, both in Canada and overseas, and maybe even settled down somewhere in Australia doing some research in the field of biology (genetics).
I hope you're married to the man of your dreams. The man of mine is Gwynn. He is originally from South Africa (another place I wish to visit).
You'll probably have two children of your own – a girl(Michaela Anne) and a boy (name yet to be decided).
If everything goes according to plan you'll be living in Australia in a big house in a small town outside of a big city with a lot of land, a dog, Gwynn and your two beautiful children. Hopefully you have a career in the medical field, maybe doing research in genetics. Gwynn will be a computer programmer and you will be doing alright for yourselves.
However, if things don't go according to plan for you, I wish you all the love, happiness and joy in the world and don't settle for anything less than the best since that is absolutely what you deserve.

英语写给自己的信件格式
英语作文书信格式：
1、最上面顶格写你要把信写给谁。
2、第二段写你要对这个朋友要说的话。
3、写完后最后的一行写上你自己的名字。
注意：
（1）结尾语的第一个字母要大写，最后还要加上逗点。
（2）若要针对收信的对象，将结尾语加以区分，则对于比较亲密的对方，可以用Sincerely yours、Yours sincerely或Sincerely；对于一般的朋友可用Your friend；如果是儿女写给父母，就用Your loving son(daughter)。

英文书信格式分为八个部分：信头、日期、收件人姓名和地址、称呼、信文、结束语、签名、附言。如下：
开头：在右上角写上日期、月、日、年。
地址的写法通常从小到大，日期写在地址下面。
称呼是对写信人的称呼，写在句首下方和便签的左侧。 称呼方式以Dear开始，称呼后一般使用逗号。
从另一行空出两格写正文，信文就是信的主体部分，也就是写信人想表达的内容。 本文要求文字清晰，层次分明，表意清晰。 可以手写，也可以写。
英语作文信最后的恭维相当于文章信最后的“祝好”、“致谢”等词。
英文书信写作正文注意事项
正文一般是从称呼下一行的三到五个字开始写，正文是信的核心部分，要求正文层次分明，简单易懂。可以把正文分成三个部分，首先，其次，最后，这样不仅显得文章有逻辑有顺序，而且看起来也会很舒服。
正文一般有缩进式和齐头式两种，缩进式是指每段书信第一行的第一个字母稍微向右缩一些，然后每段第二行顶格写。齐头式就是每一行都顶格写，一般的商务信件都是采用齐头式的写法。
写信的时候用TO……FROM。for by 是一个人讲话的时候用的（口语使用） 如这份礼物是我给他的（The gift is for him given by me.）

国际规范：
国际通用信封的格式和写法寄往国外的书信信封写作与国内的有所不同，除须用寄往国家的文字书写（也可用英文、法文书写）外，格式的明显区别是：
1、信封左上方依次写发信人的姓名、地址（包括邮政编码）、国名（这三项内容也可写在信封背面的上半部）；
2、右下方依次写收信人的姓名、地址（包括邮政编码）、国名；
3、右上角贴邮票。还必须强调指出的是，寄往国外的信，必须写明收信人和寄信人的国家、地区、城市、街道名称和门牌号码。下面这个信封格式是用英文写的：

英语书信结构一般有以下几个部分组成：
1、信封（envelope）。英语的信封和中文的一样，有三部分组成，即发信人地址、收信人地址和邮票。
只不过英语信封的格式除了邮票所贴的位置（信封的右上角）和中文的一样外，英语信封上要写的发信人和收信人的地址和中文的大不一样。
发信人的地址应写在信封的左上角，收信人的地址应写在信封偏中右偏下处。
2、信头 (heading)，即写发信人的地址和日期（右上角）。
3、信内姓名地址 (inside address)，即写收信人的姓名和地址（左上角）。
4、 称呼 (salutation)，即写对收信人的尊称（一般用Dear Mr. … ,; Dear Madam Helen,; Dear Miss…,; Dear John,; Dear Professor Smith,等）。
称呼直接写在收信人地址的正下方，中间空一至二行。称呼后面的标点一般只能用逗号。以上信头、信内姓名和地址三部分的结构如下：
注：如果是相当熟悉和随便的朋友之间，因为彼此都知道对方的地址，故信头和信内的地址常常省略。
5、正文 (body)，即信件内的主要内容。正文第一句句子一般和称呼之间空一至二行。
6、信尾客套语 (complimentary close)，即写信人在信的右（或左）下角，写上表示自己对收信人一种礼貌客气的谦称。
一般有Sincerely,; Sincerely yours,; Yours sincerely,; Friendlyyours,; Truly yours,; Yours truly,; Cordially yours,; Yours cordially,等。
7、信尾签名 (signature)，即亲笔签上写信人自己的姓名。如果是用打字机或电脑写的信，在写信人签名的上方，同样应该打上写信人的姓名。

正文需要空格，第二、三段也要空格。
第一段开头一般选用常用语DearXXX，要求顶格写。
下边的正文，不论有几段，前边都要求空两个汉字的距离，在英语书写中就是四个小写英语字母。

5、商业信件及公函必须写信头和信内地址。亲朋好友之间的信可不写信内地址，信头处只写发信日期就行了。
6、称呼 信内地址下隔一二行写称呼，其左侧与信内地址第一行对齐。对不相识的男子，单数常用Sir,Dear Sir,或 My Dear Sir；复数常用 Dear Sirs 或 Gentlemen。
对不相识的女士，单数常用Madam, Dear Madam, 或 My Dear Madam；复数常用 Mesdames或My Dear Mesdames。
7、信的正文 称呼下方隔一二行处开始写正文。写信与写文章一样，要分段写，每段有一个中心思想，内容表达清楚，语言简单明了，态度诚恳礼貌。给亲友的信还应该亲切热情。
8、结束语 结束语是写信人对收信人的谦称，写在正文下面二三行处，从中间写起，第一个词的开头字母要大写，末尾用逗号。
9、给一般熟人或朋友的信可用：

I hope you're married to the man of your dreams. The man of mine is Gwynn. He is originally from South Africa (another place I wish to visit).
You'll probably have two children of your own – a girl(Michaela Anne) and a boy (name yet to be decided).
If everything goes according to plan you'll be living in Australia in a big house in a small town outside of a big city with a lot of land, a dog, Gwynn and your two beautiful children. Hopefully you have a career in the medical field, maybe doing research in genetics. Gwynn will be a computer programmer and you will be doing alright for yourselves.
However, if things don't go according to plan for you, I wish you all the love, happiness and joy in the world and don't settle for anything less than the best since that is absolutely what you deserve.
