通常是写信，这个部分我记得我是按照《王江涛考研英语高分写作》上所说的进行的，对每种类别的书信都进行了训练，此外，自己还借鉴了下考研英语书上这部分的表达。
小作文的结构一般是：
1.开头段写明写信目的以及简单的问候，
2.中间段是信的主要内容，例如建议信要写出建议的具体内容，感谢信要写出感谢的具体原因等，
3.结尾段一般是点名主题，再次问候或者期待回信等。
除了结构，小作文也应该适当地注意表达，语言得体且礼貌，主体部分用一些长句能为文章加分。
【大作文】
考研英语的大作文是考试中重要部分之一，但是作文想得高分却不是非常容易，在考研英语的写作中，对高级词汇的运用和是否会写高级句型十分看重。
大作文的结构一般是：
1.首段对图表的描述。前期可以看些经济学人什么，参考一下里面的表格是如何表述的，并且针对不同类型的表格自己要学会归纳表达，对图表的描述我自己根据《王江涛考研英语高分写作》和雅思写作学习了如何描述图表，并且归纳了很多常用的表达，平时我在看到图表时，会先在心里用中文大致描述一遍，然后再转换成英文写下来。
2.第二段是对图表所展现的现象进行解释，大多为原因。这个部分要注意语句结构的多变。在观点上，不一定要创新，常见的观点即可，最主要的是能有很好的表达，并且同一个意思的词语尽量用替换词。
3.第三段的大多为总结或者对未来趋势的预测。可以适当参考一些书上例文的写法，但是切忌生搬硬套，应该学着自己仿写，组成自己特有的作文素材库。
我在练习大作文的时候自己归纳了很多主题词汇，并且参照了雅思作文的写作，可能有人认为两种考试模式不同，不一定能通用，但我个人认为无论什么考试都是对英语应用能力的考察，很多地方是可以相互借鉴的。
总之，作文应该多练，保持手感和语感，有条件的可以和同学相互修改、讨论。
