一、 背景
我所任教的学校位于xx省东北部的一个边远的小镇,学校的光荣历史和骄人的业绩,在周边地区闻名遐迩,为更广泛的吸引周边地区的学生来我校就读,我校在创办英语特色上大下功夫,开办了许多丰富多彩的活动来营造英语教育氛围,其中创办英语课外活动---英语角成了我们创办特色文化学校的一项重要内容。
二、活动方案
开学初全体教师一起制定计划,要求每个年级内容的选择要有梯度,循序渐进,而且年级与年级之间要有衔接,内容不能重复。学生可以升级,从活动室1渐递升到活动室4,计划要详细、周密,最好有周计划。若把四个年级的活动教案装订成册,这便是一本校本教材,可持续使用,在使用中不断增减内容,不断完善。
1. 时间安排:
在政教处和教务处的统一协调下,每周星期三下午4:15-5:00为各年级英语角活动时间,
2.地点与人员安排
活动室1:七年级(基础稍差的学生)
活动室2:七年级优等生(可吸收八年级成绩较差的学生参加) 活动室3:八年级优等生及九年级基础较差的学生
活动室4:九年级优等生 。四个活动室同时开放,人员流动式与固定式相结合。
为了让基础较差的学生树立自信心,让他们降低一个年级段,降低了难度,学生易接受。每个活动室一定要有一名教师组织。尽可能挑选四名语音、语调好,且有创新意识的年轻教师担任,每个活动室的指导教师要固定,学生自由选择教师,这是对教师能力的一种考察,也是展示他们业务水平的好机会。教师业务忙,工作量大,可以把英语角的备课工作安排在假期,教师有充分的时间,查阅书刊,上网学习,借鉴一些好的经验和方法,减轻正常工作时间的劳动负荷!每个活动室要根据学生英语程度的不同,分成若干小组,每组4-6人,每一个兴趣小组要选出一位小组长,以便对小组情况进行管理和检查。
3.内容与形式:英语角的内容和活动形式要有利于学生的全面发展和长远发展,依据语言学习的客观规律,充分体现不同年龄段和不同语言水平学生的学习特点和学习需要。要体现循序渐进的原则,在进行外国文化教育时应渗透思想品德教育,提高鉴别能力。在活动中可采用独学、对学和群学的方式。
三、活动形式
(1)话题口头作文。课外活动是课堂的延续和补充。每次的topic内容大都与学生用书同步,来源于教材并与现实生活紧密相关,对于低年级的学生由于所学的英语词汇量和学到的短语句子较少,交流起来有一定的难度,small tall是最可取的。对于低年级程度较好的学生,可鼓励他们与高年级的学生进行交流,到高一级的活动室去活动。对于英语程度较差的学生,可以让其在小组中承担任务量较小的角色。让每一个学生都开口说英语,让语言在不断"运用"中真正"活"起来,成为学生自己的东西。
(2)请学生主持。教师可邀请口语好,且有组织能力的优秀学生主持几期英语角,但老师必须要做好助手。如:做游戏、讲故事、朗诵、唱英文歌曲、表演短剧、英语小知识竟赛,讲述异域文化等。教师要在活动前在主持人的培养、活动方案的指导上的下功夫。英语课外活动方案由学生自己设计,更能符合学生的心理特征,认知水平和兴趣爱好。
(3)根据节日搞活动。学习英语不只是为了学习英语语言本身,还应了解英语国家的风土人情。通过异国风情的介绍,满足学生的好奇心,从而激发学生学习英语的兴趣,还可以培养和提高运用英语的交际能力。临近Mother's Day ,Teachers' Day, Thanksgiving Day,Christmas Day等节日时,可根据这些节日组织一些活动,如英语的演讲比赛,对话表演和有关节日的知识竞赛等。事先要求学生搜集相关节日的知识材料,如词汇等,这样既培养了学生搜集信息和处理信息的能力,又培养了学生独立学习和自主学习的能力。
(4)开展"模仿秀"背课文比赛。可以组织学生听"原汁原味"的原版录音,让学生模仿其语音、语调,做跟读练习,以小组为单位进行比赛,评选"模仿秀"小组和个人。教师可事先指定一篇课文,让学生回家认真准备,跟磁带仿读,让学生在规定的时间内背诵下来,最后决出优胜者,并给予奖励。也可以在网上寻找短小的rhyming poems、tongue twister、chant等,让学生跟读,以培养学生的语感。这些内容既拓展了课本知识,又来源于生活,容易引起学生的兴趣。
(5)看英语动画。新课程理念要求"积极利用音像、电视、书刊杂志、网络信息等丰富的教学资源,拓展学习和运用英语的渠道。"并且进一步解释:"在开发英语课程资源时,要充分利用信息技术和互联网络。 组织学生观看英语动画电影,如:功夫熊猫(Kung Fu Panda),狮子王(The Lion King),海底总动员(Finding Nemo)等,让学生通过观看,初步了解部分英语语言的应用语境,完成课上所不能完成的语言积累。
(6)排练情景剧。 以小组为单位进行英语情景剧的排练,如:白雪公主与七个小矮人 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ,三只小猪Three pigs ,英语幽默短剧The Pocket Money。在编排的过程中,学生们大胆对短剧进行删减和改编。在整个活动中,既锻炼了学生们的听说能力,还培养了同学之间的合作精神,促进了学生的个性和特长的发展,培养了学生的非智力品质。学生们自己编排的故事情节,精心创设的语言环境,给自己提供了更多地运用所学语言材料的场所,增加了语言实践的量,提高了学生综合运用英语的能力。
总之,在开展英语角活动的整个过程中,坚持以学生为主体,以活动促发展的培养理念,让有个性和特长的学生脱颖而出,成长为英语学习的骨干,带领并促进全体学生的整体素质的全面发展。 四、效果与反思
1.我校自创办"英语角"以来,学生学习英语的氛围日益浓厚,参加活动的学生日益增多,英语爱好者也越来越多。英语角的活动与课堂教学互相补充,互相促进,提高了我校的英语教学水平。但是,学生不固定和学生程度不一,依然给开办英语角带来诸多麻烦和不便,教师备课量大也确实是一个实际问题,这些是我们下一步继续摸索和探讨的问题。

5.充分发展学生个性特长英语活动课要使英语爱好者和有英语特长的学生有用“武”之地。通过活动课使他们充实知识、发展能力、增长才干,把他们培养成学习、活动的骨干,去影响、吸引更多的学生积极主动地参与活动。
三、具体实施
(一)创设校园英语环境
1. 校园标牌双语化。为给学生创设英语氛围,把校园、班级、处室的标志牌、标语牌进行英汉双语标注。让学生在潜移默化中体会英语语言,不懂得地方可以通过对照汉语、询问同学、老师等方式进行理解学习,久而久之,学生就会掌握这些语言。
2. 校园内设固定的英语角。每月进行活动,每次活动确定一个话题,学生围绕话题事先收集与话题有关的资料,在英语角活动时与同学、老师进行交流。
3. 校园内设英语宣传栏。创设学生英语表演的舞台,让学生Show出自己。学生们自主确立主题、写主持台词、出宣传海报,体验成功,感受语言的魅力。
4. 校园英语名言工程。精选许多英语名人名言、格言警句,布置于走廊台阶。学生踏进校门,从大门口,到楼梯,到走廊,处处都能见到英语格言,这就为学生提供了良好的习得环境。教室是学生每天学习的地方,老师的办公室也是他们熟悉的环境。英语标注学生们天天都能看到。 通过构建“英语无处不在”的校园环境,为学生在生活中潜移默化地进行英语学习创造良好的条件。
(二)校园英语活动的开展
1. 每两周举办一次学校英语手抄报展览。要求全体学生参与,通过涂涂画画、填空、排序等方式进行手抄报的创作。通过展评,评选出一、二、三等奖,并展示在学校宣传栏上。
2. 每周固定进行校园英语广播。可由学生轮流主持,内容包括日常英语、魅力音乐、英语天地等,借此提高全校同学的英语听力水平,扩大信息量,开阔视野,提升英语素养。
3. 开展英语兴趣小组。每班级成立英语兴趣小组,定期进行活动,通过学唱英语歌曲、英语游戏、日常会话、英语故事、英语课本剧表演等形式激发学生的学习兴趣,培养英语特长生,并以点带面,带动全校同学共同进步。

7.作业秀。为培养学生良好的书写习惯、养成正确的书写规范,在输入语音,训练标准的语音、语调的同时加强书写训练。课外不定期地组织优秀“作业秀”,把卷面整洁、书写规范流畅、格式精美的作业本展示在全校师生的面前。让同学们有了书写的`标准,激起学生的好胜心,形成正确、优美的书法。
8.写作竞赛。我们要求学生以课文为例,用所学的知识,进行写作比赛,培养学生的书面表达能力。并评选出一、二、三等奖。
9. 演讲比赛。例如:Talk about my name. Talk about past. Something about sb …培养学生的语言表达能力和语言应变能力。
10.歌曲比赛。通过课堂内外教学歌曲、向学生推荐英语歌曲录音带等方法让学生接触大量的歌曲。同时不定期地举行英语歌唱比赛,选拔出优秀的英语歌手。在举行英语歌曲比赛的过程中发动更多的学生学英语、唱英语,激起学英语的高潮。
